Puerto Rican Score

Just getting back from an epic week in PR. It was a much needed trip to escape the cold flatness of the Outer Banks. I honestly wasn’t too stoked on PR before this trip, but I have a new respect for the waves and the people there. Can’t wait to go back! Here’s a few images from my trip. Keep an eye out for more. Might actually get waves here this week (knock knock).

Winter on the Outer Banks

Yesterday was a classic winter day on the sandbar. The last bit of snow from this weekends storm melted away under clear skies and plenty of groomed leftover swells from the howling NE winds offered a couple of super-fun sessions for me, my brother, and a couple of friends. Definitely the coldest session of the year as water temps were in the upper 30s. Check out a photo slideshow by yours truly on Surfermag.com of Winter on the Outer Banks. Also, please check out Mr Brett Barleys website for a collection of all the coverage from his stellar performance at the Volcom Pipeline Pro! Congrats, Brett!!! So stoked for you bud! Here’s a few moments from the last few days. Another round of nasty weather on the way..

Solid Southy

South swell peaked at 26 ft at 11 seconds on Monday. Clean, fun leftovers for Tuesday. Snapped a few photos, but spent most of the time on a board for once. Check out coverage of this swell on Surfermag, EXPN, and Easternsurf.com.

Empty and Perfect.

The end to every good swell..

Excitement on the Sandbar

Serendipity house moved south on Monday. A fun little south swell then a green, glassy NE groundswell coupled with 60 degree air temps. Jesse Hines surfs again after a 3 month recovery from a broken leg (and surfed like it never happened). Brett Barley launches his new website and then heads out to Hawaii for the Volcom Pipe contest.  The drum bite down south has been crazy good. Could go on and on. Here’s a few images from the last few days of life on the sandbar. Enjoy! Wind, weather, and more waves on the way..

How will the removal of the concrete foundation affect the sandbar out back? We'll see next week..
