Added a new Featured Wedding and a few recent testimonials on the wedding website. Head over and check it out here.  More weddings will be posted soon. Been a great start to the season! Surf on the way from….Tropical Storm Alberto..? In May?

Lisa & Steve TTD

Almost finished with Lisa & Steve’s destination wedding photos. Just came across this one that I like from the trash-the-dress session the day after their wedding. It shows how happy they are and isn’t super posed and stiff looking. I’m all about the candids! This really was a fun shoot as you can tell by Lisa’s expression. She had a separate dress for the TTD session and we had a blast trashing it in the Caribbean Sea and the pool at the resort. Steve’s rocking his rented tuxedo in the pool! Ahh, good times. More to come.

Shapers Alley: Outer Banks

Stoked to play a small part in a feature on surfboard builders of the Outer Banks on Surfline. Matt Pruett did a great job on the story and Daniel Pullens portraits of all the shapers are super. These guys put in a lot of work into the story and its definitely worth checking out. Click on the screen grab of an aerial photo I shot last summer to view. I’ve had a few inquiries from people wanting to purchase a print of the image…click here to buy a print or canvas.

Jennifer & Branden

Here are a few photos from a recent engagement session with Jen & Branden. We knew it was risky planning an engagement session in mid February but since they were coming from out of town for the weekend to meet with vendors we decided to fit it in while they were here. This winter has been mild, especially compared to the last few winters. Unfortunately though, the weekend they came down a low pressure system moved through and we had gusty 20-30 mph winds, freezing temps, and light rain. Sunday didn’t look any better as the wind was forecasted to blow 30-40+ mph, so we charged it Saturday afternoon in the arctic conditions. Despite the ugly weather we made the best of it and still had a great time. Engagement sessions are so fun, even in winter storms. Looking forward to their wedding in Corolla later this year.

Outer Banks Bride Magazine Cover!

So incredibly honored to have the cover of the new Outer Banks Bride Magazine. Congrats Jen & Brett!

Meghan & William

Photographed Meghan & Williams engagement session on Tuesday. The weather was about as good as it gets for this time of year. We were a little nervous as it was pouring rain and cloudy all day on Monday, but it cleared up and was beautiful Tuesday. They were a lotta fun to work with and made my job easy. Looking forward to photographing their wedding in October.

B&W Randomness

Today is a black and white kinda day. Here’s a few completely random B&W photos.

Megan & Cory

Been a while since I posted wedding photos or updates. I have to admit, its really nice having a separate wedding website I don’t feel like I have to update it every other day like I do with this blog. Sometimes I get tired of updating the blog. Esp when I have much more important things to do like design wedding albums, get ready for wedding expo coming up in a few weeks, get back to brides in a timely fashion, and shoot photos for local businesses brochures and websites. And surf when there’s waves  of course. But i like to keep people stoked  and showcase my work, so i try to update when i can. Anyways I just added a new featured wedding to my wedding website….the marriage of Megan & Cory back in October at Jenettes Pier, which is right up there with my favorite places to shoot! Here is just one moment from the wedding…Megan jamming on the bongo drum. First time seeing a bride playing bongo drums at her wedding…pretty awesome! I posted over 150 images on my wedding website so check it out. Maybe that’s too many photos, but I figure its better to post a bunch than just a few like most people do. Click here to view the photos.
