Went up to Avalon yesterday evening to check out the sunset. I was fishing the evening before and didn’t get a chance to photograph some of the most beautiful evening light I’ve seen in a while. There was a rainbow and warm vivid light against dark ominous sky. Was feeling pretty guilty about not having my camera in the boat when I was fishing, but its nice to just enjoy the moment sometimes rather than photograph it. Anyways, it looked like the sky was going to be pretty cool again so I brought my camera to Avalon. Soon as the sun dipped below the clouds and just before setting, the sky lit up. I called Chris McDonald to come meet me at the pier to shoot a few sillouettes. The surf was nonexistent, so I had to hide the ocean and make it look like he was going to surf. A fam from Kentucky was at the pier and saw us shooting. The father came up to us freaking out about Chris being a pro shredder. Next thing I knew Chris was signing autographs. Livin the dream!
